Around €5.5m for Luqa industrial estate regeneration

INDIS Malta will be investing around €5.5 million in the regeneration of the Luqa industrial estate through the construction of new roads or resurfacing of existing ones, upgrading or installation of services, embellishment, as well as development of infrastructure in areas where this was still missing to date.

A total exceeding a kilometre of roads will be built from scratch or resurfaced. The new infrastructure will not only better service existing operators, but in the process also create some plots that would eventually be allocated to enterprises, thereby bringing more economic activity to the area.

Spread over a total of 92,500 sqm, the Luqa industrial estate is home to almost 120 enterprises.

Its regeneration forms part of the €470 million infrastructural investment programme, which is aimed at future-proofing industrial facilities in Malta. The programme includes an allocation of €30 million for the upgrading of the road network within the industrial estates, particularly those in Ħal Far, Bulebel, Marsa, Kordin, and San Ġwann, in addition to Luqa.
