INDIS assists CPD in procuring new equipment

INDIS Malta has assisted the Civil Protection Department (CPD) to procure two water bowsers having a capacity of 42,000 litres each, complete with pumps and one mechanical horse to pull.

The new equipment, which was completed with the CPD colours and logos, shall be based in Gozo thereby significantly boosting the firefighting capacity on the island especially in cases of large-scale fires, including but not limited to those within the industrial estates.

The equipment will also be on standby in case of a national emergency in Malta.

INDIS Malta’s assistance is the result of an Agreement signed with the CPD, which on its part is providing consultancies during the development of new facilities to minimize the risk of incidents happening, as well as fire awareness and basic firefighting training to INDIS Malta employees and representatives of tenants at the industrial estates.

The Agreement follows up on a similar one signed in 2018, whereby INDIS Malta (then Malta Industrial Parks) assisted the CPD in procuring a small fleet comprising two water bowsers having a capacity of 42,000 litres each, complete with pumps and one mechanical horse to pull, as well as two truck bowsers having a capacity of 20,000 litres each; whereas the CPD among others provided around 30 fire training classes in which over 550 employees from various factories in the Bulebel, Mosta Technopark, and Hal Far Industrial Estates took part, apart from fire awareness training to INDIS Malta employees.
