INDIS Malta supporting Ta’ Qali artisans to renovate

INDIS Malta is offering the artisans operating at the Ta’ Qali Artisan Village support in order to renovate their properties during the ongoing second phase of the regeneration project.

While some of the artisans are already operating from their renovated properties, others have encountered difficulties especially as a result of the impact that the COVID-19 pandemic had on their capacity to invest, as well as in finding skilled masons specialized in Maltese stonework that would be able to carry out the work within the stipulated timeframes.

In order to help address these issues, INDIS Malta has published an open call to select a number of contractors that would each be responsible for the redevelopment of a cluster of properties within the Ta’ Qali Artisan Village at pre-established rates, with the artisans also being offered a financing scheme whereby they would repay INDIS Malta over a number of years.

Besides making life easier for the artisans, who will be able to focus more on their work while INDIS Malta manages the construction of their new properties, these initiatives will also help in speeding up this phase of the project.

Concurrently, INDIS Malta will also be working on the next phases, which shall include the development of a multi-purpose venue to create more open spaces within the village, a centre for small or start-up artisans that require operational space, as well as a new brand for the Ta’ Qali Artisan Village that will enhance the identity of the village and help in attracting more visitors.
