The estate in Xewkija is the main industrial zone on the island of Gozo. Its tenants currently operate in sectors ranging from ICT including software development and back-office administration, to manufacturing of furniture and food and beverages, among others. A new facility, the Gozo Innovation Hub, has been developed by INDIS Malta to accommodate various operations in the knowledge-based economy, with a wide array of services being provided to help new companies set up with ease and then operate successfully. A childcare centre can also be found within the Xewkija Industrial Estate.
Situated on the outskirts of the medieval Citadel and the city of Victoria, Xewkija is only minutes away from the harbour in Mgarr, which is the main port of the island. A ro-ro ferry service connects Gozo to mainland Malta throughout the year, with regular day and night trips of just under 25 minutes to the port of Ċirkewwa at the northern tip of Malta.
